             KITTEN/CAT ADOPTION CONTRACT

The cat/kitten described herein has been sold to the person named below as the Purchaser and is free from any liens or encumberances as a result of breeding fees, veterinary fees, etc.

This cat/kitten has been purchased as a pet.  As such, the Purchaser agrees to neuter or spay  (if not already altered) this cat/kitten between the ages of 6 to 8 months after birth or within 30 days of purchase if the cat is sold as an adult.  The Purchaser also agrees and guarantees that this cat/kitten will not be used for stud or breeding.  I understand if I do not alter this kitten/cat, I will owe Barbara Pond an additional  $1,000 breeder fee plus any and all legal fees.

    This cat/kitten is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of the purchase.  He/she has been inoculated for panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, & Calici virus and has received a physical from Richard O'Grady DVM of the North Torrington Veterinary Hospital, Torrington, Ct.  A Health record will accompany a copy of tis contract.  The Health Guarantee extends 48 hours from time of purchase (24 hours if Purchaser has other pets).  During this time, you should have your cat/kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian.  He/She may perform any blood tests (ex: FIP, FelV, FIV) at the Purchaser’s expense.

     If your veterinarian of choice diagnosis ill health, the Breeder reserves the right to have the cat/kitten taken to the Breeder’s choice of Veterinarian for a second opinion, at the Breeder's expense.  Returning the cat/kitten for health reasons or reported loss of a kitten or cat, must be accompanied by  Clinical verification (ie: Lab reports, test results, etc.) from the examining veterinarian as evidence of illness.  If a veterinarian other than that of the Breeder’s choice institutes treatment or administers any further vaccines, the Health Guarantee is null and void.

     THIS CAT WILL NOT BE DECLAWED!  Purchaser agrees that adequate indoor sanitary facilities will be provided.  This cat will NOT  be allowed to roam out of doors. The Purchaser agrees not to smoke around the kitten or cat.   Purchaser further agrees that this cat/kitten will receive proper veterinary care and  annual veterinary check ups.  Feline Leukemia vaccine and FIP vaccine are not recommended.

     If at any time the Purchaser is not able to keep this animal, I, Barbara Pond, request the courtesy of first refusal, provided the cat/kitten has maintained the good health present at the time of the sale to you.  Breeder is in no way responsible for any expenses incurred by you for the care of this cat/kitten.
